Patterson finds beauty in new photography exhibit
WESTFIELD – Patterson Library will open a new exhibit, “With the Eyes of a Child,” featuring photographs by Jamie Probst in its Octagon Gallery on Jan. 4. An opening reception for the artist will be held from 7-9 p.m. The show will run through Jan. 25, available for viewing during library open hours.
Probst, who owns Bliss Hill Photography, wants to find and share the beauty of the world.
“The news corporations today would have us all believe that there is no goodness or beauty left in the world,” he said. “But the truth is that it is all around us in everyday moments. Bliss Hill Photography exists to help capture those beautiful moments that we see and experience every day within our community. To share beauty, instill hope, and build faith is our mission. We will help you see the beauty that surrounds you, one photo at a time.”
Patterson Library’s art gallery program is funded in part by the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Re-grant Program administered by the Cattaraugus County Arts Council. The opening reception is free and open to the public. Wine for the opening has been generously donated by Johnson Estate Winery. Contact Nancy N. Ensign, Octagon Gallery Curator, for interest in art exhibition for the year 2014, or Art Escape programming, at 326-2154 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
