Black?Knight Hall of Fame

Silver Creek has announced the creation of the “Black Knight Hall of Fame.”

The first induction class will be announced in the late spring of this school year and will be honored next fall.

Anyone interested in nominating an individual for consideration should fill out an application on the school website at

Indoor Youth Soccer Sign-ups

Area boys and girls ages 4-13 between Jan. 25 and April 27 may sign up for Indoor Youth Soccer. Sign ups will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7 at Country Fair in Brocton; Tuesday, Jan. 8 and Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Eason Hall in Westfield; Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Meeder’s Restaurant in Ripley, and Monday, Jan. 14 in the lobby of Chautauqua Lake Central School in Mayville.

Age groups will be 4-5, 6-8, 9-11 and 12-13. Teams are coed and practices are limited. The program will run from Feb. 2 through April 27. One game will be played Saturday at Family First Sports Park in Erie (included in the fee).

Ages 4-5 play Saturday mornings at the Eason Hall in Westfield, older children play on Saturday afternoon at various schools in the area.

The fee is $20 for the first child, $15 for the second and $10 for the third (max. of $45 per family), but scholarships are available.

Westfield Girls Basketball

Basketball for Westfield and Brocton girls in grades 3-6 will be starting Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.

Sign up at the WACS High School Gym on Jan. 5 or any Saturday. This program is sponsored by the Village of Westfield Recreation Dept.

Chautauqua County Umpires classes

Chautauqua County Baseball Umpires Association will be holding classes for for anyone interested in becoming a high school baseball umpire.

Classes will be held during January and February. Contact Ray Lindquist at 450-2158 to register or with your questions.

CCHA Senior Men’s League C Division

EBC 8, Wicked Glen 1

Ryan Simon had four goals in EBC’s win over Wicked Glen. Chris Irwan netted two goals and Shawn Nowicki had a goal and an assist. Joe Hallmark Jr. scored once, assisted by Joe Hallmark Sr., and additional assists were contributed by Al Shaw and Scott Johnson.

Tony Privitera scored the lone goal for the Glen, assisted by Drew Carriero.

Wicked Glen 3, Beaver Club 1

Tony Privitera and Eric Williams had unassisted goals for Wicked Glen. Also adding to the tally was Bobby Brown, assisted by John Weise.

Greg Krauza had the only score for Beaver Club, unassisted.

CCHA Senior Men’s League A Division

Dom Polski 3, Lil MaGills 2

Tony Manzella and Brandon Renckens each had a goal and an assist in DP’s win over Lil MaGills.

Chris Messina completed the scoring and Spencer Koeppel had an assist. Nick Caccamise was in net for the victors and Chris McCracken took the loss.

Robert Bajdas had a goal and an assist and Jim Azzarella also picked up an assist for Lil MaGills.

PDubs/Heenan’s 6, BJ’s 5

It was a five-goal game for Josh Polak of Hennan’s, with the other goal being scored by Cory Dziduch. Assists came from Matt Ginley (2), Justin Giles and Phil DiFrancisco.

Jim Wright had two goals for BJ’s and Brian Wojcinski had a goal and two assists. Jay Burnett and Scott Wojcinski each had a goal and an assist and Drew Yelich and Kyle Yelich each had an assist.

Local Television

Televised Fredonia basketball

Tonight’s girls high school basketball game between the Fredonia Lady Hillbillies and Allegany-Limestone Lady Gators will be televised on Channel 5 in Fredonia and Channel 9 in Dunkirk. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Ed Eaker will provide play-by-play.
