Wicked Glen’s lone goal was scored by Kevin Smith, and was assisted by Brian Denea.
Heenan’s 4, Columbus J & J 3
Greg McQuiggan picked up a goal and an assist in Heenan’s win over Columbus J & J.
Other goals were scored by Luke Schindler, Jeff Hych and Tim Thaxton. Jeff Jamieson had two assists and Dave Wright had one.
Leading J & J were Drew Wright with two goals and an assist, Dan Minnich had a goal, and Mark Jacobik chipped in two assists.
Dunkirk Knights of Columbus Youth Free
All boys and girls ages 10-14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2013 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. The local competition will be held Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. at the Northern Chautauqua Catholic School gymnasium.
The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is sponsored annually, with winners progressing through local, district and state competitions.
All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent. For entry forms or additional information, contact the local schools or J. Strychalski at 366-8330.
Indoor Youth Soccer Sign-ups
Area boys and girls ages 4-13 between Jan. 25 and April 27 may sign up for Indoor Youth Soccer. Sign ups will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7 at Country Fair in Brocton; Tuesday, Jan. 8 and Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Eason Hall in Westfield; Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Meeder’s Restaurant in Ripley, and Monday, Jan. 14 in the lobby of Chautauqua Lake Central School in Mayville.
Age groups will be 4-5, 6-8, 9-11 and 12-13. Teams are coed and practices are limited. The program will run from Feb. 2 through April 27. One game will be played Saturday at Family First Sports Park in Erie (included in the fee).
Ages 4-5 play Saturday mornings at the Eason Hall in Westfield, older children play on Saturday afternoon at various schools in the area.
The fee is $20 for the first child, $15 for the second and $10 for the third (max. of $45 per family), but scholarships are available.
