…..Floripe Padua of Fredonia has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2012 quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A fifth-year student in RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering, Padua is studying Computer Hardware Engineering. He is the son of Manuel and Ramona Padua of Fredonia. John Nickerson of Brocton was awarded approximately $6,600 per year for the Presidential Scholarship. Nickerson is slated to graduate in 2013 from Brocton Central School and intends to enroll in the architectural technology program.

Kevin Burns of Dunkirk was awarded a $1,000 per year Educational Foundation Academic Distinction Scholarship. Burns is slated to graduate in 2013 from Dunkirk High School and intends to enroll in the business management program.

Lashonda Moreland of Dunkirk was awarded a $1,000 per year Educational Foundation Academic Distinction Scholarship. Moreland is slated to graduate in 2013 from Dunkirk High School and intends to enroll in the nursing program.

The Presidential Scholarship (free room, double occupancy) is awarded to students who possess a 90 or better high school average through their junior year and who have achieved a minimum SAT score of 1150 or a composite ACT score of 25. Recipients must maintain a required GPA (grade point average) to continue to receive free room in subsequent semesters.

The Educational Foundation Academic Distinction Scholarship, based on scholastic achievement, is from the Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc., according to Deborah Goodrich, associate vice president for enrollment management at Alfred State…..
