Losing faith in our leaders

Editor, OBSERVER:

Gun sales are way up celebrating the killings in schools.

The hardheads are returning to Washington with no sensible legislation on the agenda.

We are looking for the Party and the Lobbyist (NRA) to lead them around.

We cannot make one law protecting children without 50-plus write-ins for unrelated selfish wants. We have laws protecting migratory birds, guns with a maximum load of three steel shots are allowed.

I have lost confidence with our legislators.

All responsible for the ‘cliff’

Editor, OBSERVER:

Who is really to blame regarding the federal government and the “fiscal cliff?”

The Democrats and the liberal media tell us the Republicans will be held responsible because they insist either in no tax increase or that tax increases be limited to people earning more than $1 million.

Negotiations require give and take. President Obama is not willing to give anything. President Obama will be just as responsible for the consequences of going over the cliff.

Some will say that President Obama wants to go over the cliff. I do not know, but it would not surprise me if he did.

Forestville comes to rescue

Editor, OBSERVER:

Thank you to the kind and strong Forestville citizens who stopped to help us out of a ditch near Center Street on a snowy New Year’s eve. Not just one, but six cars stopped to offer us help.

A car of four young men stayed to push the car while another gentleman expertly guided their efforts to get us out of the mushy ditch. We were safely on the road again within 20 minutes of our mishap. We are grateful to these wonderful men. Forestville should be proud of its community.
