Rivals clash as Dunkirk tops FHS
The Dunkirk boys and Fredonia girls each came away from Lucky Lanes victorious, Thursday after their CCAA Division 1 high school bowling match.
The Marauders swept the boys contest behind a linescore of 883-862-868-2,613. Fredonia compiled a 759-830-704-2,293.
Brady Manzella was the star for Dunkirk (19-13). He rolled a match-high series of 621 with games of 227, 218 and 176. Alex Kubera added games of 204 and 192 while Brandon Haase (212) and Peter Kubera (188) each had nice games.
Fredonia (11-21) was paced by Jeff Rowe’s high game of 197. Collin Schanzlin added a 183 while Nate Wojtkowiak had a 182.
The Lady Hillbillies (25-7) flipped the script on the girls side, winning 3-1 with a line of 824-719-764-2,307. Dunkirk (15-17) mustered a 741-739-744-2,224.
Genna Riddle was the high bowler for Fredonia with her 541 series. Elizabeth Valvo added games of 194 and 176.
Dunkirk’s high bowler was Hannah Schnur at 233-202-588. Caitlyn Chase added a 187-195-549.
Gowanda boys, girls sweep Falconer
JAMESTOWN – Both the Gowanda boys and girls bowling teams swept Falconer, 4-0, during their CCAA Division 1 high school bowling match, Wednesday at Jamestown Bowling Company.
In boys action, Gowanda (22-10) rolled a 753-901-900-2,554 to beat Falconer’s 704-732-762-2,198.
Jordan Schindler netted a 213-199 to lead the Panthers while Zach Gabel (195-183), Eric Chimino (219) and Jake Ivett (189) all provided a boost.
Falconer’s top bowler was Trystin Lede with a 176 game.
The Lady Panthers (22-10) matched the boys’ success with a 4-0 sweep of their own with a linescore of 687-614-678-1,979. Falconer put up a 669-612-537-1,818.
Malyssa Farely’s 213 game was tops for Gowanda with Brittney Stelley adding a 478 series.
The Lady Golden Falcons were led by Stephanie Crick and her 189-453. Jessica Zdunski had a 157 game.
CCAA Division 2
Forestville boys, girls sweep CLCS
CLYMER – Forestville boys and girls each won 4-0 decisions over Chautauqua Lake, Wednesday in CCAA Division 2 high school bowling at Cutting Lanes.
Ryan Forbes led the Hornets (25.5-10.5) with a 216-189-554 as Forestville accumulated a linescore of 862-793-778-2,433 to Chautauqua Lake’s 507-475-479-1,461.
John Murphy added a 211-178-537 in the win while Phil Narraway (196), Brad Dillenburg (187) and Austin Pierce (162) added nice games.
The Thunderbirds (0-40) were led by Matt Petrucha’s 151 game.
Emily Dillenburg was the top bowler for the Lady Hornets with her 168-169-172-509.
Forestville (26-2) continued its hot season with a line of 590-581-501-1,672 to Chautauqua Lake’s 505-467-484-1,456.
Also bowling well for the Lady Hornets were Sarah Pleva (171-164) and Emily Narraway (160).
The Lady Thunderbirds (5-31) were led by Heather Sullivan, who rolled a 180-151-476 and Emily Paulus, who added a 141 game.
The Chautauqua Lake boys team will take on Brocton on Monday before both boys and girls take on Frewsburg on Wednesday.
Brocton boys sweep Frewsburg
FREWSBURG – Patrick Bigelow rolled a 506 series to lead the Brocton Bulldogs to a 4-0 win over Frewsburg, Wednesday in CCAA Division 2 bowling.
Brocton’s line of 721-790-798-2,309 bested Frewsburg’s 1,878.
Caleb Terhune led the Bears with his 167 game.
