Westfield Middle School names top students

WESTFIELD – On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria: Follows Westfield’s Rules of Respect for staff and peers; shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects; prepared daily to participate in all classes; serves as a positive role model for peers; and demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship.

Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for November.

The sixth-grade recipient is Jena Brooker. In school, Jena enjoys her math and social studies classes because they are both are fun and interesting. In her spare time, she enjoys the winter sport of snowboarding. In the future, Jena hopes to continue doing well in school and become a lawyer.

Ally Kassman received this honor for the seventh grade. In school, she enjoys her English and social studies classes, because she is able to learn about the past in both classes. As a hobby she enjoys cooking and baking – especially having her family try the new things she makes. One goal she has for the future is to continue to do well in school and become either a baker or a pediatric nurse.

At the eighth-grade level, William Zachary received this honor. In school, he enjoys his math class because he is a good math student. Outside of the classroom, Will enjoys both playing basketball and cooking. In the future, he hopes to continue his education and become a chef.
