Grantland T. Stevens, 31, of Buffalo Street was charged with following too closely, driving while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration on Nov. 25. Police observed Stevens following too closely to the patrol car. Stevens appeared intoxicated when pulled over at 2:30 a.m. His blood alcohol content was found to be a .15. He was released on an appearance ticket for Town of Collins Court.
Leiondie R. Mohawk, 28, of Chestnut Street was charged with third-degree assault, reckless endangerment and child endangerment on Nov. 29. Police responded to the report of a violent domestic incident on Chestnut Street on Oct. 16. Officers found that Mohawk allegedly been involved in a heated argument with a male victim with a five-year-old child present. Mohawk allegedly struck the child in the face with a bottle and caused injury to the male victim, all while being intoxicated. Mohawk fled the scene and the male victim was transported to Lakeshore Hospital by Gowanda Ambulance. Mohawk was located by the Evans Police Department on an arrest warrant. She was arraigned in the Town of Persia Court and then remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
