Kristina R. Stewart

Kristina R. “Kris” Stewart, 69, of 22 Front St., Silver Creek, passed away Wednesday, January 9 at Brooks Memorial Hospital following a four year strug-

gle with cervical and pancreatic cancer. She was born Kristina Renate Schoenwald to her parents, the late Otto and Maria Schoenwald, on

February 15, 1943 in Koenigsberg, East Prussia (Germany). Kris arrived in the United States the day before President Kennedy’s funeral in 1963.

She was a member of the Silver Creek community for over 40 years, and will be remembered for her many years of dedication and service at the Silver

Creek VFW as a hostess and honorary member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. Kris is survived by a son, David Stewart of Oakland, CA and a daughter,

DeMaris Stewart of Jamestown. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19 at the Samuel Cimino VFW Post
