Eleanor V. Kubasik

Eleanor V. Kubasik, 84, of Dunkirk, died Friday evening January 11, 2013, unexpectedly at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk. She was born November

11, 1928, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Casmir and Victoria (Mackowiak) Jesse. A graduate of Dunkirk High class of 1947 and SUNY Fredonia class of

1969, where she received a BA in elementary education and a MS in eduction in 1974. A retired elementary teacher at Dunkirk Public Schools, where she taught 5th grade at School 7. Memberships include Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hyacinth. Eleanor enjoyed her great-grandchildren, solitaire, crossword puzzles, regular trips to the casino, being a fan of the NY Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Arthur F. Kubasik, whom she married July 1, 1950, their children William “Bill” Kubasik of Dunkirk, Kathleen (Ken) Rook of Webster, NY, Lynn (Mark) Wisniewski of Dunkirk, grandchildren Amanda (Dave) Winchell, Brooke (Ben) Durfey, Adam Kubasik, Vicki (Matt) Scozzafava, Nick (Sarah) Rook, Matthew (Jessica) Wisniewski, Jacob (Katie) Wisniewski, Stephanie Wisniewski, great-grandchildren Tyler, Brody, Cooper, Evan, Katelyn, Abigail, Amelia, several nieces and nephews

also survive. Preceeded in death in addition to her parents are a sister Rita Crowe and brother Robert Jesse. Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R.

Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10 o’clock in Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment will be in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery.
