Twenty years ago – 1993
Dana L. White, newly-promoted to the position of Chef De Cuisine at the White Inn in Fredonia, had one of his original recipes – Creamy Scrambled Eggs with Smoked Salmon and Dill in Puff Pastry Shells – chosen for inclusion in a unique Country Breakfast from “America’s Best Country Inns” collection.
Thirty years ago – 1983
The Fredonia High School chapter of the National Honor Society recently held its annual induction ceremony in the school auditorium. Twenty-three juniors and seniors were presented with their certificates and charms/tie tacks, after which Richard Dawes, “Teacher of the Year,” made a few comments. Several musical selections by various musicians followed.
Forty years ago – 1973
At the Silver Creek School Board meeting held recently, Michael Schober, water treatment plant superintendent, was commended for his article which was recently published in a business magazine.
Fifty years ago – 1963
The town of Portland Sesquicentennial 1963 Committee met at Brocton Central School with Town Supervisor Gerald Tubbs presiding. Nicholas Rizzo was appointed parade chairman.
