Patterson leads Bulldogs past Eagles
BROCTON – Jordan Patterson had a game-high 22 points, helping Brocton (8-1, 5-1) past Ripley (0-10, 0-6), 62-34, Tuesday, during CCAA Division 4 boys basketball action.
The Bulldogs shut the Eagles out in the first quarter, 14-0, before building a 26-7 lead at halftime. A 21-10 edge in the third gave Brocton a 47-17 lead. Ripley’s best quarter came in the fourth, when they outscored the home team, 17-15.
Dan Ferguson chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds in the win while Bacalum Buchanan added 11 points and six assists. Patterson finished with three steals to go with his 22 points.
For Ripley, Eric Szymankowski had a team-high 13 points while Vinny Shioleno had eight points.
Lake Shore 68, Depew 55
DEPEW – Matt Vona had a career-high night with 18 points to help the Lake Shore Eagles (3-4, 5-5) fend off Depew (4-3, 6-5), 68-55, Tuesday in ECIC Division 2 boys high school basketball.
All of Vona’s 18 points came in the second half, including 13 in the final eight minutes.
Clark Brueckl added 18 points and Colin Hart added 17 for the winners. Brueckl also had seven rebounds while Connor Govenettio had four assists and five rebounds for the winners.
