Edward John Postolowski

Edward John “Pops” Postolowski, 86 years old of Fuller Road in Portland, New York passed away on Wednesday evening January

16, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pa. after a short illness. He was born in New York City on September 10, 1926 the son of the late John and Victoria Postolowski. Ed had been an area resident for the past 63 years. He worked in the

steel industry and was a retired steel worker of AL Tech Steel Corp. He was a World War II veteran having served in the Army in

the European African Middle Eastern Campaign where he received the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and American Campaign Medal. He was also a former Brocton police officer and an area grape farmer. Ed belonged to St. Dominic’s Church of Brocton, N.Y. and was also a Member of the John W. Dill American Legion Post 434 of Brocton, N.Y. He is survived by his loving wife, Angeline Louise Polisoto Postolowski, whom he married on February 2, 1949; one son John E. Postolowski of

Dunkirk New York; four grandchildren, Bryan Postolowski, Jennifer Thornton, Kelly Ossman and Kristine Ossman; three great-

grandchildren, Adam, Eva, and Aubree; one brother, Frank Postolowski of Mahwah, New Jersey; and one sister, Stella Balazs of

Old Tappan, New Jersey. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one daughter, Deborah Ossman, who passed away November 6, 2009; four brothers, Walter, John, George and Daniel; and three sisters Wanda, Rose and Angie. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 22, at 10 o’clock from St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church in Brocton, New York where a Mass of

Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Joseph Walter. Interment will follow at the Portland Ever-green Cemetery. Friends

are invited to call at the Morse Funeral Home in Brocton, N.Y. from 2-4 and 7-9 on Monday, January 21, 2013.
