Gowanda Harley-Davidson takes over Holiday Valley Jan. 26-27

GOWANDA – Gowanda Harley-Davidson is taking over Holiday Valley in Ellicottville Jan. 26 and 27 for Harley-Day Valley 2013. A weekend fully dedicated to learning to ski, learning to ride, and just getting out of the house.

Tim McKeever, Marketing Manager at Gowanda Harley-Davidson, says this is the first event of its kind at Holiday Valley where there’s something for everyone. “This event is geared toward the entire family. Whether you ski or ride, or neither, you won’t want to miss out on this fun time.” Gowanda Harley-Davidson, now beginning its 66th year in business, is launching its all-new Jumpstart Program. “The Jumpstart is a new, exciting, opportunity for anyone who has ever dreamed of riding a motorcycle, but has been unsure, to try it out,” McKeever adds. “It allows someone to sit on a real Harley-Davidson motorcycle, start it up, go through the gears, and experience the thrill that only a Harley can bring, all while remaining stationary, upright and with the safety of our trained staff right alongside of you. Just think that you’ll be sitting on top of a brand new Seventy-Two Harley-Davidson motorcycle, overlooking the slopes of Holiday Valley, cruising at 30, 40 even 50 miles per hour. Anyone can do it, and quite frankly, we expect everyone will want to, so come out early.”

Holiday Valley will be offering discounts on lodging throughout the weekend, as well as learn-to-ski packages.

“Many people are intimated by the thought of getting on the slopes, or think that either they’re too old, or uncoordinated, but it’s likely to be the opposite. Whether it’s skiing, snowboarding, tubing, or riding the Sky Coaster, Holiday Valley wants to show you how simple and easy it is to enjoy this wonderful time of year there,” McKeever said.

He goes on to share that even if you’re set against skiing or motorcycles, you’ll still want to come out. “Bottom line is, around this time, we all have cabin fever. Long, dark, cold days get old fast. Get out of the house, bring the family, your friends, even your co-workers and come join the fun. Spend the weekend. Holiday Valley and Gowanda Harley are even teaming up to throw a big Miller Party Saturday from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. inside the brand new Holiday Valley Lodge on the second floor. There’s live music with Bleeding Hearts, lots of Harley giveaways, a Miller Snowboard to be given away Saturday during the party (Sunday, you can sign up to win a free Gowanda Harley Gear prize pack), a logo hunt on the slopes for prizes, Harley Snowboard Park contests, custom made Harley-Day Valley event t-shirts for sale, live radio broadcasts on Saturday morning and much more. And the great thing is, it’s free to attend the event.” As always, parking is free at Holiday Valley.

Harley-Day Valley 2013 is at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 26 and 27. Saturday the event starts at 9 a.m. and goes until 7:30 p.m., with Sunday hours from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
