Local soldiers receive National Guard promotions

LATHAM – Major General Patrick A. Murphy, the adjutant general for the State of New York, announces the promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capabilities for additional responsibility and leadership.

Nathan Burrows of Dunkirk, and serving with the 105th Military Police Company is promoted to the rank of Private First Class.

Gene Whitaker of Fredonia, and serving with the 152nd Engineer Support Company is promoted to the rank of Private First Class.

Gregory Keefe of South Dayton, and serving with the Company A, 642nd Support Battalion is promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Armando Arce of Cherry Creek, and serving with the Company A (Distribution), 427th Brigade Support Battalion is promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Daryle Lauber of Sheridan, and serving with the Company C (Medical), 427th Brigade Support Battalion is promoted to the rank of Specialist.

John Kawski of Cherry Creek, and serving with the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2-101 Cavalry (Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition) is promoted to the rank of Specialist.
