Mr. and Mrs. Brandon (Tara) Mitchell

Tara Elizabeth Newberry and Brandon Ronald Mitchell were united in marriage on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church in Concord, Md.

The bride is the daughter of Irvin and Sara Newberry of Concord. She is the granddaughter of Rona Newberry of Concord and the late Guy Newberry, and Bruce and Bobbye Byrd of Pensacola, Fla.

The groom is the son of Ronald and Kim Mitchell of Portland and Dan and Tracy Roemer of Mayville. He is the grandson of Ronald and Sandy Mitchell of Portland and Carole Faust of Mayville.

The bride was escorted by her father and wore a strapless Impressions Couture ivory gown with a sweetheart neckline, accented by a purple sash and a ribbon design on the tulle skirt. She wore an elbow-length veil and pearl and crystal earrings and necklace by the Bead Lady. She carried a bouquet of lavender phalaenopsis orchids, white and lavender roses, Queen Anne’s lace, and purple moonlight carnations.

Serving as maid of honor was Emily Evans of Durham, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids included Wendy Perdue of Concord, sister of the bride; Carly Mitchell of Dewittville, sister of the groom; and junior bridesmaid Rachel Perdue of Concord, niece of the bride. The attendants wore tea-length purple dresses, and carried bouquets of moonlight carnations, lavender alstromeria lilies, baby’s breath and roses.

The best man was Aaron Delcamp of Brocton, friend of the groom. Groomsmen included Andrew Manzella of Charlotte and Matthew Swank of Dunkirk, friends of the groom. Ushers were Irvin Newberry, Jr. of Huntsville, Ala., brother of the bride; Garrett Perdue of Concord, nephew of the bride; and Alex Davis of Dewittville.

Officiating minister was the Rev. Thurmond C. Plexico. Wedding directors were Malinda Barbee and Janet Patterson.

Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Pat Graham Crowe. Soloist was Jeffery Price.

A reception hosted at the Vintage Motor Club at Gibson Mill followed the ceremony.

The bride graduated from Concord High School in 1999 and is a 2003 graduate of UNC Chapel Hill. In 2006 she graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Fla. Prior to marriage, she practiced law with the firm of Fleet, Spencer and Kilpatrick, PA, in Shalimar, Fla.

The groom is a 2005 graduate of UNC Charlotte. He is currently serving in the United States Air Force.

The couple traveled to the Dominican Republic for their honeymoon. They will reside in the Baltimore/D.C. area.
