Brian Westphal, 52, of Groveland, Fla., died unexpectedly Dec. 6, 2012 in Tucson, Ariz. He was born in Dunkirk, N.Y., on June 14, 1960. Brian had attended Fredonia Central School. He had been an independent long haul truck driver for over 25 years and was employed for Southern Pride at the time of his death. While employed with Pacer
Transport in 2004, he received the President’s Club Award and the Quota Achievement Award from DD&S Express in 2006. He enjoyed barbecues & grilling at family picnics,
smoking meats, cooking, motorcycling and restoring antique vehicles and tractors. Brian was always a gentleman with a big heart and smile that would brighten anyone’s day. He was always willing to help others. He was very close to and loved his late Aunt Barbara Westphal of Fredonia. Survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Sharon

Kubera, Aunt Mildred Jankowski of Dunkirk and several cousins, nieces and nephews. All his very close trucker friends will miss and remember him as a lost brother of the road. The son of Henry Westphal Jr. and the late Darlene (Howell) Westphal with three brothers and two sisters; fraternal grandparents, Henry and Mildred Westphal of Fredonia and maternal grandparents, Willis and Alice Howell. A memorial service was held at his ranch in Groveland on Dec. 19, 2012. A life remembrance ceremony will be held in Dunkirk, NY
at a later date.
