Louise C. Szopinski

Louise C. Szopinski, 91 of Westfield, formerly of Dunkirk, died Friday morning, January 18, 2013, at the Absolut at Westfield. She was born August 25, 1921, in Brocton, daughter of the late Walter and Stefania (Konopka) Pielechowski. A graduate of Brocton High School and a Dunkirk resident for over 50 years. A past employee of Dunkirk Ice Cream Co., she also worked for many years as a waitress for West Drug Co., and Ann’s News in Dunkirk. Louise was a member of St. Hedwig’s R. C. Church and former member of the Kosciuszko Club. Surviving are her sons Ronald (Linda) Szopinski of League City, TX., James “Knuckles” (Annette) Szopinski of Fredonia, grandchildren Ryan, Brandon, Janna and Nicholas Szopinski and Melody Kaczor, great-grandchildren Parker, Nathan, Kaleigh, and Christian, along with several nieces and nephews

also survive. Preceded in death in addition to her parents are her husband Daniel L. Szopinski and son David T. Szopinski. No prior visitation will be observed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10 o’clock in Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig and interment will be in St. Hedwig’s

Cemetery. Arrangements are by the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty St. in Dunkirk.
