Guns make government responsible
The right to bear arms, also known as the Second Amendment, is not so much to protect us against each other or hunt but to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government. Our Founding Fathers in 1776 were afraid that the new government they just founded might get out of hand and that the people may be needed to take back the power if necessary.
Fortunately, as of right now, we have a pretty responsible government that does not bully its own people perhaps because of the Second Amendment. I thank God that I was not born in a place like Syria or Central America.
