JCC reschedules ‘Reflections on Resistance,’ other events canceled
Jamestown Community College’s Jamestown Campus was closed Tuesday due to inclement weather. All daytime and evening classes and activities were canceled.
Because of this, the “Reflections on Resistance” program by Jen Marlowe and accompanying community dialogue originally scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at JCC’s Jamestown Campus are being rescheduled for 7 p.m. on Feb. 6.
Jen Marlowe’s “Art As Activism” program originally scheduled for noon today has been canceled.
The screening of the “Rebuilding Hope” documentary will still be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday in JCC’s Student Union.
The program is free and open to the public.

benefit for Stefany Nalepa Sunday
A spaghetti dinner benefit for Stefany Nalepa will be held Sunday at the Nickel Plate Depot, 131 Central Ave. in Brocton, with doors opening at noon.
The event will feature live entertainment by Nick Siracuse from 97 Rock, a silent auction, bake sale and 50/50 raffle.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Taco Bell/KFC in Fredonia and at the door. Take-out is available.
Stefany Nalepa was diagnosed with lymphoma in the summer.
After fighting, and winning, that battle in September 2012, she was diagnosed with brain cancer in October.
As medical treatments and weekly trips to Roswell continue, Nalepa’s family and friends are reaching out to the community for help and support.

‘Life of Pi’ rescheduled at Opera House for this evening
Due to weather conditions, Tuesday night’s Fredonia Opera House Cinema Series screening of “Life of Pi” has been rescheduled to today at 7:30 p.m.

OSHA training for general industry Jan. 28-29
The Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES Adult & Community Education Division will offer Occupational Safety and Health Administration training for general industry from 12 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 at the Central Avenue Community Learning Center in Dunkirk.
Participants will learn how to identify and prevent workplace hazards, and all participants will receive a certificate of completion following the two-day training. The cost to participate is $150.
The Central Avenue Community Learning Center is located at 324 Central Ave. in Dunkirk.
