NCCYHA hosting Hockey’s Coolest Disco event Saturday

The Northern Chautauaqua County Youth Hockey Association will host its first Hockey’s Coolest Disco gala event Saturday from 8:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at the Fredonia Beaver Club. The gala will feature Disco Duck, Buffalo’s Best party band.

The 2012-2013 season is the 29th season of NCCYHA hockey and this gala event was created to honor and promote a league that has been a staple in this community for over a quarter of a century. NCCYHA has chosen Disco Duck because of their dynamic personalities, fantastic sound and attention to detail. For over a decade Disco Duck brings back those crazy fun carefree times of the Disco Era. If you love the nightlife and love to boogie, bring those boogie shoes and let’s dance all night long.

The band consists of Casey with powerhouse vocals on lead, Disco Dave, sporting his huge disco wig on drums and vocals, Ric Stave, the bassist with cool vocals and the magic bass and Marky Chimes playing the guitar like a fine fiddle and singing the night away. Prizes will be awarded for best costume and disco trivia gurus.

Tickets are $10 each and include food. They are available at the door or by calling Lorie Herman at 785-4902.

NCCYHA is made up of almost 300 players, both girls and boys, participating on 20 different teams in six age divisions and in Junior Varsity and Varsity Hockey. NCCYHA also offers an introduction to hockey where children with little or no skating experience can discover the fun and excitement of hockey.
