Fast start paces Bulldogs to victory

ELLICOTTVILLE – The Brocton Bulldogs (7-1, 10-1) jumped out to a 15-2 lead and never looked back in defeating Ellicottville, 56-40, Friday in CCAA Division 4 boys high school basketball.

“We played real solid defense and that set the stage,” Brocton coach Jeff Franze said.

The Bulldogs held a 27-15 halftime edge and used a 16-8 third-quarter run to essentially put the game away.

Dan Ferguson led the charge with a game-high 20 points and nine rebounds while Jordan Patterson added 11 points.

The Bulldogs return to action Tuesday when they host Sherman as they try to avenge their only loss of the season.
