Brocton Teachers’ Association names Students of the Month
BROCTON – The Brocton Teachers’ Association announces the Students of the Month for January.
The middle school Student of the Month is eighth-grader Denali Smith, daughter of Peter Smith of Brocton and Renee Smith of Dunkirk. Smith is involved in the school chorus, leadership program, honor and is a high honor roll student. She has received a Pride Award from Mrs. Thompson and volunteers for the Humane Society and the soup kitchen. Smith was very happy to receive this award during her birthday month.
The high school Student of the Month is senior Courtney Ransom, daughter of Kim and Adam Morello of Brocton. Ransom is a member of Sources of Strength, Brocton Review, and is an honor and high honor roll student. She is very active outside of school dancing at two different studios. At Brocton, Ransom dances for Tap ‘n Toes where she is also a demonstrator for the younger dancers and Center Stage in Westfield where she is involved in a work study program. She also volunteers with the dancers from Westfield for Relay for Life. Ransom’s future plans include owning her own dance studio and attending college. She has been accepted at SUNY Fredonia and Medaille receiving the Presidential Scholarship. Her favorite classes are physics and journalism.
