WESTFIELD – On Saturday, a Ripley woman was charged with petit larceny.

Around 9:20 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a complaint from the Dollar General Store located at 7612 Route 20 in the town of Westfield of an alleged female shoplifter. The female was detained and identified as Cassandra Abbey, 54, of Ripley. Abbey was charged with petit larceny and was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the town of Westfield Court on a later date.

BEMUS POINT – On Jan. 24, a Falconer man was charged with possession of marijuana, speed in zone and driving outside of restrictions.

Around 10:45 p.m., deputies stopped Scott J. Smith Jr., 29, of Falconer, in the village of Bemus Point for speed in zone. Following an investigation he was found to be in possession of marijuana and to be driving outside of restrictions. Smith will appear in the town of Ellery court. Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by Jamestown Police K9 Mitchell.

CARROLL – On Saturday, a Frewsburg man was charged with driving while intoxicated, blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater and failure to keep right.

Around 3:05 a.m., sheriff’s patrol observed a southbound vehicle on Water Street which drove over the yellow center lines and fully into the opposite travel lane. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as Adam G. Sutton, 24, of Frewsburg. Following an investigation, Sutton was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was taken in custody and charged with DWI, B.A.C. of .08% or greater, and fail to keep right. He was released with appearance tickets and will answer the charges in Carroll town court later.
