Troopers arrest man found sleeping in car with needle in his arm

State Police at Fredonia arrested a man for possession of controlled substances Tuesday after finding him with a needle in his arm.

While on patrol troopers found a man apparently sleeping in his car behind the Country Fair store at the intersection of Route 60 and Route 20.

The man was identified as Mark Dzielski, 27, of Brocton. He was found asleep in his car with a hypodermic needle stuck in his left arm. Emergency personnel were called to the scene. Dzielski signed off medical treatment and was released to state police personnel.

Dzielski was found to be in possession of heroin and Xanax and was arrested and processed at the Fredonia barracks. He was issued appearance tickets for penal law misdemeanors of two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of hypodermic needles and public health law violation of having a controlled substance not in its original container. Dzielski was also charged with violation of the vehicle and traffic law for unlicensed operator and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Dzielski is to appear in Pomfret Town Court on Feb. 5.
