Rec Center available

The Recreation Center is open for morning walk as well as birthday parties at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds. The Recrea-tion Center will be open Monday through Friday mornings from 7:30 to 10 a.m. for the adult walk. The cost is 50 cents per day. Punch cards are available at the Recreation Center.

In addition, birthday party rental times are available on Saturdays. Call Patty at the Recreation Office at 366-9885 for available dates, times and prices.

Chautauqua County Planning Board

to meet Tuesday

The next meeting of the Chautauqua County Plan-ning Board will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Silver Creek Village Hall, 172 Central Ave., Silver Creek.

Dunkirk Town Board special meeting and workshop Tuesday

The Dunkirk Town Board will hold a special meeting and workshop at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the town hall, 4737 Willow Road to review quotes for updating computers for the clerks and to begin review of the employee handbook.

The date of the regular town board meeting has been changed to Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. in the town hall.

The complete 2012 New York state government payroll is now posted on, the Empire Center’s government transparency website. The database includes the names, titles, base pay rates, and total pay of 291,364 individuals who worked in the state’s executive, legislative, or judicial branches at any point in calendar year 2012.

This highest paid employee in state government was Antonio Alfonso, a distinguished teaching professor and chairman of the Department of Surgery at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center, according to the Medical Center’s website. His pay totaled $1,064,837 in 2012.
