Six Hammerhead Swim Club members attended the 12 & Under IMX Challenge/Senior IMX Championships in Webster, on Jan. 25-27. HHSC swimmers had one first-place, three third-place and a total of 11 top-ten finishes at the meet. There were three new gold times and a total of 10 personal-best times achieved (listed below):

Sign ups for this Spring’s Northwest Chautauqua Soccer Club Lightning Travel Soccer Teams will take place Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 6-8 p.m., at McDonald’s in Westfield, Meeder’s in Ripley, Ahira Hall Memorial Library in Brocton and the Chautauqua Lake Central School lobby.
Players ages 9-17 are invited. Practices (two per week) and home games are played at NorthLake Family Recreation Center in Westfield during May and June.
Nick Bailen (Fredonia) is a senior defenseman for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute men’s hockey team. The Fredonia native has appeared in 23 games for the Engineers. Bailen has recorded five goals and 11 assists for 16 points. The RPI Engineers are 8-11-5 on the year.
