Singer and missionary to minister at Silver Creek church

SILVER CREEK – On Feb. 10, classical singer and missionary George Miller will present a live concert during the morning worship service at the Silver Creek Assembly of God Church. The church is located at 1385 Route 20. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. The public is welcome.

In 1977 Miller’s life was dramatically changed. He had been working in Buffalo and living a life of fear, anger, frustration and sadness. A co-worker and friend talked with Miller about making a decision to invite Jesus into his life. Miller had always been impressed with the peace his friend seemed to exhibit in every situation and decided that he wanted to experience the same peace and joy in his own life, so he responded to his friend’s invitation. Since that time Miller has not looked back nor regretted the decision that changed his life. He immediately began attending church and was soon changing lives for others as well.

His passion to comfort those who are hurting soon led him to begin using his talents in churches and prisons throughout Western New York and the Eastern Coast of the United States. His many years of training in classical music served him well during those years.

In 1999 Miller felt himself called to overseas missions where his greatest joy is felt when he is serving in the prevention of human trafficking through helping to build orphanages and finding sponsors for the innocent children orphaned by disease and violence. He has served in churches and orphanages in the Ukraine, Albania, Greece, the Balkans, Kosovo, Uganda, Africa, the Philippines, Indonesia, Dulfur, Sudan and Ethiopia.

Miller is currently a missionary associated with Hope and Help International. He will be leaving on Feb. 11 to serve in India. While there he will be participating in the building of an orphanage.

Miller lives in Buffalo with Diane, his wife of 37 years. He is quick to point out that his wife is his greatest support and most humble critic. The Millers are the parents of six children and grandparents of four grandchildren.
