Class canceled

The Chautauqua County Rural Ministry has announced its cooking class, “Oops! Preventing and Fixing Common Cooking Mistakes,” scheduled for today has been canceled.

Library meeting Tuesday

The Board of Trustees of the Mary E. Seymour Memorial Free Library will meet at the library on Feb. 5, at 4 p.m.

Rec Center available

The Recreation Center is open for morning walk as well as birthday parties at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds. The Recreation Center will be open Monday through Friday mornings from 7:30 to 10 a.m. for the adult walk. The cost is 50 cents per day. Punch cards are available at the Recreation Center.

In addition, birthday party rental times are available on Saturdays. Call Patty at the Recreation Office at 366-9885 for available dates, times and prices.

Public invited to Laurel’s 50th birthday

To thank the community for its ongoing support of the Laurel Run, the Hotellings are inviting the public to celebrate Laurel’s 50th birthday Feb. 8 from 3 to 6 p.m. at The Resource Center Workshop on Chestnut Street in Dunkirk. There will be cake and ice cream. Everyone is invited to attend and wish Laurel a happy 50th birthday.

Silver Creek budget forum Thursday

The Silver Creek School District will hold a public budget forum Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. There will be a budget presentation and then there will be time for questions from the public. District residents are encouraged to attend with questions on the budget.
