Brueckl drains nine 3-pointers in Lake Shore win
YORKSHIRE – Clark Brueckl made a school-record nine 3-pointers in a 34-point performance, boosting the Lake Shore Eagles (4-7, 6-8) to an 80-48 victory over Pioneer (3-8, 5-9) in ECIC Division 2 boys high school basketball action Monday.
“Honest to goodness, (one of Brueckl’s shots) was at least 30-feet out,” Lake Shore head coach Dan Gerken said. “People at the scorer’s table just looked at me and thought ‘did he really shoot that?’ I don’t think he took a bad shot. We’re walking out of the gym with a win and I’m wondering why we couldn’t get him 15, 20 shots.”
Brueckl’s 21-point first half allowed the Eagles to take a 45-29 advantage at halftime. He added another 13 in the second to seal the win.
Wade Bergum recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 assists to support the Lake Shore attack, while Connor Govenettio added two points and five assists.
