Brocton downs North?Collins

BROCTON – The Brocton Lady Bulldogs (3-8, 4-10) used a solid effort in the rebound department to take care of North Collins, 42-15, Friday in CCAA Division 4 girls high school basketball.

Brocton had 28 offensive rebounds and 43 total rebounds.

“That was the key to the first half,” Brocton coach Ken Purcell said. “We really had second- and third-chance opportunities.”

Morgan Bennett and Brooke Kuschel led the rebounding attack with eight each while Jess Merle and Tory Harper each had seven.

The Lady Bulldogs also got a well-balanced scoring attack as eight different players scored. Jess Putcher led the way with nine points while Kenya Stanton, Kuschel and Merle each had six.

Destiny Kennedy had seven rebounds in a losing effort.

North Collins returns to action Tuesday at Silver Creek while Brocton is at Ripley the same night.
