Four players score in double figures as Wolverines prevail
SOUTH DAYTON – Four Westfield players scored in double figures as the Wolverines improved to 9-1 in CCAA?Division 3 with a 76-47 win over Pine Valley (3-7, 5-11) on Friday night.
The Panthers kept things interesting in the first half and led Westfield by a point after one quarter, but the Wolverines broke free in the second for a 23-14 run to take an 8-point lead by half, then pulled away in the second half.
John Coe led the way with 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Jacob Gray netted 15 points and had the double-double with 10 rebounds, Tanner Dahl also scored 15 points with six assists and four steals and Dan DeMarco followed with 14 points.
Dylan Granger topped Pine Valley with 14 points, Thomas Raiport added 12 points, Lucas Trombley had eight rebounds and three assists and Jake Wilcox puled down eight rebounds.
North Collins 31
NORTH COLLINS – The Sherman Wildcats (10-1, 13-4) used an 18-1 first quarter to propel themselves to a convincing 67-31 victory over North Collins (5-6, 8-9) on Friday in CCAA Division 4 boys high school basketball.
The Eagles shot just 1-for-6 from the charity stripe and could not knock down open shots, according to North Collins coach Rob Catalino.
Jayden Keough, Jordan Keough and Todd Youngman each scored seven points for the Eagles.
North Collins returns to action Thursday at Clymer.
West Valley 23
WEST VALLEY -Dan Ferguson led the way with 20 points and Jordan Patterson added 15 points as Brocton moved to 14-1, cruising to a 56-23 victory over West Valley (3-14) in Division 4 boys basketball.
Ferguson also had nine rebounds and Patterson added seven assist in the win.
For West Valley, Colton Myers had nine points and six rebounds.
