Fruit of the Vine Ultreya
A day of reflection was recently held, entitled “From Embers to Flames.” Deacon Mike Quinn, the spiritual director for the diocese’s Cursillo Movement presided. It was an afternoon of prayer, music and reflection on the Cursillo Movement – where it evolved from, where it has been and the future of the movement. Then there was a more personal reflection as everyone was asked to think about their own personal experiences from their own Cursillo weekends, and if they wished to, asked to share some of those memories from those weekends. After the reflection ended, everyone attended the 4:30 p.m. Mass at St. Joseph’s Church. After Mass, everyone gathered in the cafeteria for a social potluck dinner.
The regular meeting on Jan. 24 was held. The topics discussed were the upcoming Second Touch weekend, held Feb. 1-3 at the St. Columban’s center in Derby; the next CCM weekend in April; and also the upcoming reunion Mass that Ultreya will be hosting on Thursday, April 11 at Our Mother of Good Counsel in Buffalo. Bishop Malone has agreed to celebrate Mass that night.
The next Ultreya meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s. All members are encouraged to attend.
