Silver Creek Middle School announces its Students of the Month

SILVER CREEK – Silver Creek Central Middle School announces its Students of the Month for November. The students were selected based on the following criteria: strong work ethic, dependability, helpfulness, respectfulness and cooperation with others.

The sixth-grade recipients are Danielle Baez and Nikolas Dawley.

Dawley is the son of DeWayne and Michele Dawley of Silver Creek. Within school, he participates in Ski Club. Outside of school he plays baseball for Hanover Little League and plays basketball with the Lil’ Cagers. He participates in martial arts at Crino’s and holds a green belt. He likes to fish, swim, hunt, participate in archery and watches the N.Y. Yankees and N.Y. Giants. Dawley would one day like to be a professional baseball player.

Baez is the daughter of Mary and Domingo Baez of Irving. Within school, she participates in art club and broadcast club. Her favorite activities include reading, drawing, and spending time with her friends. Her goal is to go into graphic novel design or animation.

The seventh-grade recipients are Gabrielle Rivera and Bryan Berek.

Rivera is the daughter of Penelope Schneider-Smith of Silver Creek and Vincent Rivera of Fredonia. Within school, she participates in volleyball, student council, and the middle school newspaper called “The Grapevine.” Outside of school, she is a member of the youth group at the Presbyterian Church in Silver Creek. She enjoys listening to music and collects sea shells. Rivera’s goal is to become a photographer or a math teacher.

Berek is the son of Brian and Linda Berek of Sheridan. Within school, he participates in modified basketball, soccer, broadcast club, science and technology club, and book club. Outside of school, he attends the Christ Chapel Youth Group. Berek’s favorite activities include collecting football cards, constructing Legos, and playing air hockey with his brother. His goal is to receive a fire science degree and become a fire fighter or fire chief.

The eighth-grade recipients are Zak Bogosian and Jordan Gabel.

Bogosian is the son of Matthew and Karen Bogosian of Silver Creek. Within school he is involved in basketball, baseball and cross country. Outside of school he plays in a rock band called “Imortal.” He enjoys playing guitar, baseball, listening to music and camping. He hopes to one day be a professional musician or a music teacher.

Gabel is the daughter of Robin and David Gabel of Silver Creek. Within school, she participates in volleyball. She is involved in dance and cheer at Collage Performing Arts Center. Gabel enjoys dance and sledding in the snow. She is interested in possibly becoming an orthodontist.
