Isabel “Iz” Roesler, 85, of Dunkirk, died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA. following a short illness.
She was born in Dun-kirk, April 19, 1927, daughter of the late Felix and Monica (Luczkowiak) Czekanski.
Isabel was a retired employee of Jim’s Cleaners in Dunkirk.
Her memberships include St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R. C. Church.
Isabel was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the Buffalo Bills, Sabres, and the NY Yankees. She also enjoyed her garden and was considered “the original Mar-tha Stewart.” She liked to sew and cross stitch, and she made the best cutout cookies.
Surviving are her loving husband of 66 years Richard A. Roesler, whom she married August 10, 1946; her twin sister, Esth-er Smith of Dunkirk; a brother, Dave (Anne) Czekanski of Rochester, NY; along withmany nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 o’clock in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R. C. Church.
Entombment will be in the Assumption Mausoleum at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
