Forestville Central School student Emily Gillman was recognized at the recent board of education meeting. Gillman is a student of the BOCES cosmetology program and was asked to do a business plan and make a model of a perfect salon. High School Principal Patrick Moses heard of Gillman’s enthusiasm and pride from BOCES and was excited to show the board pictures of Gillman’s work displayed on the cover of the 2013-14 BOCES service directory. Clark Patterson Lee engineer David Walter was also on hand to present Gillman with an award for excellence in achievement in design and recognition for her enthusiasm and creativity in designing the perfect salon. “It’s always a great honor to recognize a student such as Emily. I think she’s a great example of what you can do in the education system in Western New York and even a small community like Forestville. It’s great that you are recognizing her tonight,” Walter said. “Her example is a great design and if she wants to change fields in the future I think she would be a great designer.” Principal Moses (right) holds up the service directory displaying Gillman’s project.
