ELECTION: Progress made in Forestville

Forestville Central Schools has made the grade when it comes to the next election.

According to the Board of Elections, the district has decided to have county officials run its election for school board members and the budget. The school joins Cassadaga Valley, Bemus Point and Ripley as those who have converted to the new process.

In all, the cost to the district will be $328.70. That’s a very small cost when you consider district voters will likely be voting on a budget that will be around $15 million to run the district alone.

We hope Brocton and Westfield also allows the county to run its election when it gets closer to the day the schools have their first vote on the merger process. No one wants to see what happened in 2009 in Brocton – unfair and questionable voting procedures – happen again.
