Arthur R. Braccio

Arthur R. Braccio, 89, formerly of Fredonia Place, died Wednesday evening (Feb. 13, 2013) at the Absolut at Dunkirk.

He was born May 25, 1923 in Clyde, NY, the son of the late Fred and Tina (Janto) Braccio.

A graduate of Clyde High School, Mr. Braccio also attended the Western Pennsylvania Horological Insti-tute for Watchmaking in 1948.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was the recipient of a Purple Heart after being seriously wounded in action on July 2, 1944 in Burma. He also was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and one battle star.

He was the former owner of Raymonds Jewelers in Fredonia, which he operated from 1952 to 1974.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Rosine (Leone) Braccio; two daughters, Arlene (Dan) Polowy of Dunkirk and Janice (George) McManus of New York City; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Vivian Braccio.

Memorial services will be held at a date and time to be announced. There will be no calling hours.
