Silver Creek alum Frank Brown
Hobart College first-year midfielder, and member of Silver Creek’s Class of 2012, Frank Brown, was named the ECAC Lacrosse League Rookie of the Week by the conference office this week. He enjoyed a strong collegiate debut, producing four points and three ground balls as the Statesmen beat Siena 18-15.
Brown made his presence felt right from the opening whistle, assisting on the game’s first goal and scoring the second. His second goal gave Hobart a 12-10 lead at the end of the third quarter. Brown completed his hat trick with a spectacular around-the-world goal 29 seconds into the fourth quarter.
The Statesmen (1-0) will be back in action on Sunday, Feb. 24, when they renew one of the oldest rivalries in collegiate sports. Hobart will faceoff with Cornell (0-0) for the 132nd time in a series that dates back to 1898. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., in the Syracuse Carrier Dome.
