Man arrested after shooting sidewalk plow in Gowanda

GOWANDA – A Gowanda man was arrested after a shooting incident early Wednesday.

Thomas L. Bar-one, 40, of 89 Pal-mer St., was charged with reckless endangerment, second-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief and obstruction.

According to Gowanda Police, Barone allegedly shot at the village sidewalk plow with a long pellet gun. striking the window of the plow shortly after 6:30 a.m. Operator Bryan Bylbie was hit with the pellet in the head and was covered with glass, causing cuts to his face. Bylbie was taken to Lake Shore Hospital for observation.

Barone was arraigned in Persia Town Court. He was taken to Cattaraugus County Jail and held on $3,000 cash or $6,000 bond bail.
