Farmland Protection Board to meet Monday afternoon in Mayville

The next meeting of the Chautauqua County Farm-land Protection Board has been scheduled for Monday at 4 p.m. at the Gerace Office Building, Room 331 in Mayville.

Photography club to meet Monday

The first meeting of the new photography club, organized by Niles Dening, will be held on Monday at 6:15 p.m., at the Anderson-Lee Library.

This will be an organizational meeting. Topics of discussion will include: meeting times and frequency; format of meetings; focus of club; naming the club.

The club is open to anyone with a genuine interest in photography.

There are no age or ability restrictions, but each member should own a digital camera. Call 934-3468 for more details.

Dunkirk library seeks board members

Dunkirk Free Library seeks residents who are interested in serving on the Library Board of Directors. Interested applicants should have a passion for libraries and the services they provide the community, as well as the ability to effectively advocate for the Dunkirk Free Library. The library is especially looking for people who have skills in technology, finances, public relations and other skills beneficial to ensuring a healthy future for the library.

Individuals interested in serving on Dunkirk Free Library’s behalf should send or email a letter of intent, as well as the completed application, on or before close of business on March 15. Applications are available at the library and on our website. Forward all information to:

Fredonia Farm Festival dates Aug. 23-25

The Fredonia Farm Festival announces this year’s festival dates and officers. Melissa Thompson is festival chair, Jodie Cain is secretary and Kim Robbins is treasurer. The festival will be held Aug. 23, 24 and 25. The next meeting is this Thursday at 7 p.m. in the trustees’ room at Fredonia Village Hall. Everyone is invited to attend.

Council committee meeting postponed

A meeting of the Dunkirk Common Council Public Works Committee scheduled Tuesday morning was postponed.

The meeting has been rescheduled for March 5 at 10 a.m. in City Hall.

Pancake brunch fundraiser Sunday

A pancake brunch fundraiser will be held Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Villenova Grange, Balcoms Corners in South Dayton. Diners can bring nonperishable food items or cash to donate and receive their meals at half price.

Pistol permit holders can access form available online

Current pistol permit holders who would like to remove their names and addresses from the public record of pistol permit holders may do so by completing an exemption form and mailing to the pistol permit office at 3 N. Erie St., Mayville, NY 14757.
