Second Buffalo man charged with selling narcotics in Dunkirk
Another Buffalo man has been charged with selling narcotics in the city of Dunkirk.
According to the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, Darryl Watkins, 51, of 385 Military Road, was taken into custody on a warrant following a secret grand jury. The warrant was issued after the grand jury heard about the case brought by the District Attorney’s office. It is alleged Watkins sold quantities of crack cocaine to undercover agents of the task force over the past three months.
Watkins was taken into custody on Tuesday, brought to the Dunkirk City Jail and then later transported to the Chautauqua County Jail where he is being held pending arraignment.
As a result of information obtained, additional arrests are anticipated and the investigation is continuing.
This is the second Buffalo man charged in a week with selling crack cocaine. Earlier this week, police announced the arrest of Rodney Clyburn, 32, of 183 Jewett Ave., who was also accused of selling crack cocaine to undercover agents.
The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force is comprised of officers from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Dunkirk Police Department. Authorities continue to ask members of the community to call either their local police or the task force whenever they observe drug-related activity within their community.
