Falconer man finds Treasure Hunt medallion
MAYVILLE – Congratulations go out to Rick Gardner of Falconer, who was the winner of the 2013 Medallion Treasure Hunt, an event held in conjunction with the annual President’s Day Weekend Winter Festival. He found the medallion after the eighth clue was released, the medallion having been hidden at the Russell E. Diethrick Jr. Park in Jamestown, in a flower urn.
Gardner was presented as the winner at the Festival’s Opening Ceremonies Feb. 15 at Lakeside Park in Mayville. The Maple Inn of Chautauqua Institution was the sponsor of this event, donating a weekend stay at The Maple Inn as one of the prizes, as well as Mr. Gardner also receiving a $100 cash prize. Thank you again, Taylor Lehman of Jamestown (a SUNY Fredonia student and employee at Northwest Savings Bank) and her grandmother, Janet Henderson of Busti for writing the great and difficult treasure hunt clues this year.
