Katherine Bowker to run for mayor of Forestville
Katherine “Beth” Bowker received and accepted the nomination of the Republican Party Jan. 29 for mayor for the March 19 village of Forestville election.
Bowker’s primary goal is to continue working on and to complete the multi-million dollar water project. She feels the village is currently making good progress, and says that phase one is almost complete. Bids will be going out shortly for phase two. She says she will work closely with Eric Weiss, the engineer; EFC, the funding agency; and contractors to complete the project without delays or interruptions. Bowker feels that she has experience working on this project and continues to gain knowledge on the matter.
Bowker says, “I need your help by voting to accomplish this. Then we can all wash our cars and water our lawns and flowers.”
Bowker graduated from Starpoint Central School in 1969. She earned an A.A.S. in nursing from Jamestown Community College in 1993. She has also taken courses at SUNY Fredonia. She is a retired RN charge nurse who worked at Brooks Memorial Hospital beginning in 1984. She began her career as an LPN , then became an RN staff nurse before becoming a charge nurse. She retired in 2010.
She is married to Homer (Chum) Bowker, who is the father of Bruce of Nevada and the late Barry. They have resided in Forestville for more than 35 years.
Bowker proclaims, “I love living in this beautiful little village!”
