Fredonia Cable Advisory Board Meeting Thursday

The Village of Fredonia Cable Advisory Board will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Youth Center, Village Hall. Open to the public, the board will discuss upcoming renewal of the Fredonia Cable contract.

Benefit for Chadwick Bay Dance Saturday

Chadwick Bay Dance will hold a Ham, Shrimp, and Polish Sausage Party for a NYC Macy’s Day Parade benefit at the Kosciuszko Club’s Dog House on Saturday starting at 7 p.m. The event will also feature a themed basket raffle, and free refreshments will be available. The public is welcome.

Lakeshore Humane Society to hold spaghetti dinner fundraiser Wednesday

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser Wednes-day from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Blessed Mary Angela Parish Social Center (St. Hedwig’s), 324 Townsend St., Dunkirk. Tickets are $8, and are available from LHS members or at the door. Take-outs will be available. There will also be 50/50 and basket raffles. This event is to benefit the work of the LHS as it helps orphaned animals. More information can be found at or by calling 672-1991.

Ripley Central School preschool registration scheduled Thursday

Ripley Central School will hold registration for preschool for the 2013-2014 school year on Thursday in the Principal’s Office. To be eligible for preschool, a child must turn 4 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2013. Parents may register their child from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Registration will be on a first come first enrolled basis. If you cannot make it on the registration day, contact the Principal’s Office at 736-2631 Ext. 252.

Please bring with you to registration proof of residency, your child’s birth certificate, your child’s Social Security card and an official immunization record with up to date immunizations.

Give blood Thursday

Brooks Memorial Hospital will host a community Blood Bank blood drive on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There is a local blood shortage. This drive is open to the public and there is no appointment necessary to save a life.
