Hammerhead Swim Club

competes in Orchard Park

Eighteen swimmers participated in a league meet at Orchard Park High School Friday. Hammerhead swimmers had 11 first-place, six second-place, five third-place and a total of 32 top-10 finishes at the meet. There were 19 personal best times achieved, listed below:

8 & Under Division:

Angelina Rand (8) 50 Back 53.06.

9-10 Division:

Tom O’Brien scored 20 points to pace Snooze Cream past Big Daddy’s.

Chris Brown scored 17 points in a losing effort for Big Daddy’s I.

Week 21 Results – Team scores are as follows: Whiskey Hills Saloon I claimed the top spot with 76 wins while Witch Kitch II took second with 67.5 wins. Whiskey Hills Saloon III finished third with 54.5 wins.

Individual scores are as follows: Mat Fox finished first among men with 482 balls while Rich Milliman claimed second with 473 balls and Bruce Ensminger finished third with 472 balls. On the women’s side, Michelle Frost won with 415 balls, Patsy Klemens finished second with 405 balls and Kayla Schafer took third with 350 balls.

The following had perfect scores of 24: Witch Kitch: Dan Pavlok (WK I), Chad Jaquith (WK II), Back Yard: Rich Milliman (BY I). Whiskey Hill Saloon: Mat Fox, John Leckliter and Jim Eppinger (WHS I). Bob Warsitz made the lone table run. Rich Halpainy and Joe Latone tied for most 8-ball breaks with three each while Bruce Ensminger and Jim Klemens tied for most table runs with five each.

Standings (March 3) – 8-Ball Assassins leads, followed by Ronnie’s Crazy 8’s, Legion Machines, Da Wicked Skibbies, Jamestown St. Marauders and Jamestown Tavern. Top Gun – Tier leaders: Dave Bodekor (Purple), Mike Harris (Red), Jerry Gates and Richard Vosburgh (Yellow), Tony Baez (Blue).


Cattaraugus County Sports Banquet set for March 23

The 11th annual Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame Banquet will be held at the Little Valley Legion March 23 at 6 p.m. An outstanding individual from each of the county’s 12 school districts will be honored at the event.

This year’s inductees include: Rich Hill (Cattaraugus-Little Valley), Lou Selan (Gowanda), Don Scholla (Olean), Greg Dahlman (West Valley), Chris Blocher (Allegany-Limestone), Tom Derx (Portville), Robin Maycock (Randolph), Melissa Ward (Franklinville), Steve Noll (Hinsdale), Phil Tanner (Pioneer), Chuck Oyler (Salamanca) and Ed Ahrens (Ellicottville).

Eleven 16-person teams participated in the 43rd Annual John S. Tofil Memorial Inter-Club Tournament Saturday.

The 1st Ward Falcons Club won the title while The Beaver Club, Aquavia, Conservation Club, Moose and the Dunkirk Falcons rounded out the top six.

Individually, Scott Kawski claimed the Lou Nocek Award with a high tournament series of 731. Dwaine Bobik recorded the high tournament game with 286 while Lee Szalkowski and Dan Waite also earned recognition for high scores. The Columbus Club hosted this year’s banquet.
