Art studio seeks high school artists for upcoming events
IRVING – The Eric Johnson Art Studio in Irving is seeking talented WNY high school students for two upcoming events.
The first is an art competition to be held May 25. It is open to all high school students.
The entry fee is $10 for the first submission and $5 for each additional, first place prize is $100. Any additional proceeds will be donated to the winner’s school in the form of an art scholarship.
The second event is a mystery dinner theatre fundraiser to be held at the studio. The studio is seeking high school student volunteers to perform the play on June 7-8. No experience is needed, but volunteers must be committed and available for practice. All of the proceeds will go to benefit The Runway to Hope Foundation whose website is hateisugly.com.
The Runway to Hope Foundation is an anti-bullying program that utilizes non-medicated methods of psychological support to victims, bullies and their families. Programs include music therapy, heliotherapy and an afterschool club that educates students on sustainability and the promotion of creative talents. The Runway to Hope Foundation strives to build a unified educational atmosphere throughout Western New York.
