More city carrier assistant positions to fill; deadline to apply Monday
The U.S. Postal Service announced in January it would be hiring approximately 300 city carrier assistants throughout Western New York; approximately 1,100 online applications were received.
Despite the overwhelming response, the U.S. Postal Service still needs successful candidates for approximately 50 CCA positions in the greater Buffalo area. Interested candidates can find new postings for CCA positions at usps.com/employment.
CCAs are appointed for a term of 360 calendar days and may be reappointed for another 360-day term after a five-day break in service. The positions entail all the duties normally performed by a city letter carrier and may lead to a career position.
Salary and limited benefits include $15 an hour, paid vacation days and eligibility for health care benefits as required by law, or after the first 360-day term.
The deadline to apply is Monday. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and two years driving experience.
