Randolph man charged with sex abuse

RANDOLPH – A Randolph man has been charged following an sexual abuse investigation in the town of Poland. John O. Hitchcock, 66, of Randolph was charged with seven counts of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child Friday.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office conducted a join investigation after Cattaraugus County Sheriff Deputies received a report alleging Hitchcock sexually abused a male juvenile. The alleged incidents took place between Randolph and Ashville in Chautauqua County between September and October 2012. Both Sheriff Offices were assisted with the investigation by the Child Advocacy Programs in Cattaraugus County and Chautauqua County, and the District Attorney Office in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.

Hitchcock was picked up with an arrest warrant from Chautauqua County at his residence. He was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

HANOVER – Nicole Hill, 26, of Silver Creek was charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI per se .08 percent or higher on March 5. Sheriff deputies were called shortly after midnight to Christy Road for the report of a suspicious vehicle that pulled into a field. Hill was found to be the operator of the vehicle and through investigation, found to be intoxicated. She was released on appearance tickets for Hanover Town Court.

CHERRY CREEK – Diane M. George, 40, of Cattaraugus, was charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI per se .08 percent or higher on March 7. Deputies were responded to check the well-being on Route 83 in the village of Cherry Creek shortly before 4 a.m. Deputies found a vehicle in the ditch and the driver identified as George, who appeared to be intoxicated. She was released on an appearance ticket to appear in court at a later date.

POMFRET – A 17-year-old youth was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on March 7. Deputies were called to the report of a vehicle in the ditch on Fredonia Stockton Road at 9 p.m. Police discovered that one of the passengers in the vehicle was in possession of marijuana. The youth was issued an appearance ticket for the Pomfret Town Court.

Silver Creek Village Court

David M. Carver, 23, of Depew pleaded guilty to unlicensed operator and was fined $160.

A 16-year-old Silver Creek girl pleaded guilty to criminal trespass and will return to court in April to be sentenced.

Driving while intoxicated charges against Toni M. Elfman, 38, of Fredonia were dismissed following the conclusion of a probable cause hearing.

Clorissa D. King, 23, of Dunkirk pleaded guilty to unlicensed operator and was fined $160.

A 16-year-old Silver Creek girl was arraigned on a charge of fourth-degree criminal mischief. She was released on her own recognizance and returns to court in April.

A 16-year-old Silver Creek boy was arraigned on charges of fourth-degree criminal mischief, petit larceny, two curfew violations, and possession of marijuana. He pleaded guilty to one curfew violation and was fined $50. He returns to court in April.

Gilberto J. Rosas, 42, of Madison Street pleaded guilty to second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and was sentenced to seven days in the Chautauqua County Jail as well as an $85 surcharge.

Andrew R. Sobilo, 23, of Dunkirk pleaded guilty to criminal trespass and was sentenced to time served (169 days) in the Chautauqua County Jail as well as a surcharge of $205.

A 17-year-old Silver Creek boy pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and returns to court in May to be sentenced.

Lance D. Vosburgh, 23, of Little Valley pleaded guilty to harassment and returns to court in April to be sentenced.
