SILVER CREEK – Silver Creek High School announces the January Knights of the Month. During the month of January, two students were recognized for their contributions to the school community.

The first Knight of the month is Brooke Birner. She is the 10th-grade daughter of Greg and Beth Birner of Silver Creek. She is involved in the Key Club, SADD, Varsity Softball and Varsity Basketball. Birner was nominated by her earth science teacher, Edward Gallivan.

According to Gallivan, “Brooke is a terrific student. She works hard and is very friendly and polite.”

After graduation, Birner plans to attend college and major in psychology.

The second Knight of the Month is senior, Zachary Pierce. He is the son of Vicki and Jay Pierce of Irving. His focus during high school has centered on the senior band. Pierce was nominated by Michael Wieloszynski, his band instructor, for his dedication and leadership in the senior band. Pierce lives for his music but also enjoys his part-time seasonal job, writing and playing in his band outside of school. After graduation, Pierce plans to attend college and eventually law school.
